PAY AND PERQUISITES APPLICABLE TO INSURANCE OMBUDSMAN

(as applicable as at April 2009 – BUT ARE UNDER REVISION)

At present the Insurance Ombudsmen are being paid Fixed Basic Pay, other Allowances and Perquisites as under-

1. Fixed Basic Pay Rs. 26,000/- and Dearness pay of Rs. 13,000/-per month. The amount of pension, if any, is deducted from the gross salary.

2. DA & CCA are being paid @ admissible to Group ‘A’ Officials drawing equivalent pay in the Central Government. In case of occupying leased accommodation, HRA is not paid and no recovery towards licence fee is made.

3. Conveyance Allowance-

Nature of Benefit	Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai Centres	Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kochi and Lucknow Centres
Reimbursement of Driver’ Salary	upto Rs. 4,000/-p. m.	Upto Rs. 3,500/- p. m
Reimbursement of Petrol Bills	Upto 400 Litres per Quarter	Upto 100 Litres p. m.
Reimbursement of day to day running repairs, maintenance and servicing cost	upto Rs. 500/- p. m. on a declaration to be given by Insurance Ombudsman for having actually incurred such cost. 4. Vehicle Loan- Interest free Car Loan of Rs 1,50,000/- recoverable in the tenure ( i.e. period of 3 yrs or less ) is also available.
