The officers of this Authority conducted surprise inspections of some IRDA Accredited Insurance Agents training institutes between 19th-23th April 2004. During the inspection of Six Centres of NIS Sparta ltd. at Kanpur, Agra, Meerut, Bhiwani, Haridwar and Lucknow, it was revealed that these centres which are being run on franchisee agreements were not having the mandatory infrastructure, facilities and Library etc. as required by the conditions of accreditation. An enquiry is being conducted in the matter and it is hereby directed that these centres should not conduct any training programmes w.e.f from 15th of May 2004 and all the other franchisee centres of the said institute shall refrain from taking any new batches after 15th of May 2004 pending final outcome of this enquiry.

Another similar inspection of the Kanpur centre of Taurus Institute of Insurance Training revealed several discrepancies including non availability of proper records, library etc. as required by the conditions of accreditation. An enquiry is being conducted in the matter and it is hereby directed that no training programme/session shall be conducted at this centre w.e.f 15th May 2004, pending final outcome of the enquiry.

All concerned are to take note of this and act accordingly.
