TO ALL INSURERS, INSURANCE SURVEYORS AND INSURANCE INTERMEDIARIES

We have received a letter from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Service Tax regarding the introduction of Service Tax Code (STC) number based on Permanent Account Number (PAN) allotted by the Income Tax as per Trade Notice No. 28/Service Tax/2002 dated 12.4.2002.  The Circular No. CE-20/ADC/ST/TRADE NOTICE/2001 dated March, 2002 issued by office of the Commissioner, Central Excise Commissioner is being put on the web-site for information and compliance by all Insurers, Insurance Surveyors and Insurance Intermediaries.
