In pursuance of the Revised “Regulations &
Procedure for the Conduct of Elections to the Council” (RPCEC/ IIISLA) (Ref: IRDA’s letter dated 17.12.2008) of the Indian
Institute of Insurance Surveyors and Loss Assessors (IIISLA), I, George E.
Thomas, the Election Officer (appointed by the IRDA), hereby notify the
Election of the Second Council of IIISLA [for filling the 4 (four) vacancies
caused on account of retirement of directors pursuant to the said RPCEC/IISLA]

Candidates who desire to contest the elections to
the Second Council (for filling the said 4 vacancies as stated in the Table
given at the end of this Notification) of the Indian Institute of Insurance
Surveyors and Loss Assessors in terms of the said RPCEC/ IIISLA, shall send in
their duly filled in nominations in the prescribed manner (refer websites www.irdaindia.org
and http://iiisla.org)
by post/courier to the Election Officer by name so as to reach him at his
office on or before the aforesaid stipulated date and time at the following
address:

As
per Article 49 (g), of the Articles of Association of Indian Institute of
Insurance Surveyors and Loss Assessors (IIISLA), “The electoral college for the
election of the members form the four Zones to be elected and the electoral
college for the election of the members of the Council on All India basis shall
comprise of all Associate and Fellow Members of the Institute.” As per Article
49 (h) of the above mentioned Articles of Association, “Any contestant or voter who has not paid the annual membership fees within the
time stipulated in the regulations, shall neither be eligible to contest nor
vote in the elections.” According to the said Article read with “RPCEC/ IIISLA”
only persons whose names are entered in the Register of Members maintained by
the Institute as on 29.12.2008 and have duly paid the Annual Membership Fees on
or before 29.12.2008 shall be entitled to contest elections, propose or second
candidates or cast votes for Elections to the 2nd Council of IIISLA.

for familiarizing themselves with the Articles of Association of the Institute
and further notifications. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the
aforesaid websites. Nominations, strictly in the prescribed form shall be sent
only to the Election Officer at his office in Mumbai given above.
Accordingly, Election for 4 vacancies is hereby notified and the number of Members to be elected as per Revised “R&P of 17.12.2008” is as given below:
