1) Licensed
surveyors who qualified for categorisation of more than three departments
and were required to chose only three departments, are permitted to
submit their request for the consideration of the Authority for change
of department of their choice. This changeover request must reach the
IRDA office at Delhi before or upto 31st March, 2003 and subsequent
changes from time to time shall not be entertained.
2) Those licenced and categorised surveyors who were categorised for
less than three departments and want to be categorised for additional
department not exceeding three departments and LOP would be categorised
for "C" category in that additional department provided:
a)
he has undergone the training for that department as on 31st March, 2003
b) he submits an affidavit duly signed by him and the
trainer surveyor and notarised.
The
surveyors who have not undergone training as on 31st March, 2003 would
be required to pass the examination to be eligible for "C" categorisation
in the additional department.
3) The surveyors holding an Engineering Degree in any discipline and not
categorised for motor department would be permitted to qualify for categorisation
in the motor department subject to passing an examination of the subject.
4) The validity period of provisionally categorised surveyors bearing
serial no. 1 to 526 is extended from 31.3.2003 to 1.7.2003 in order to
enable them to appear in the examination conducted by the Insurance Institute
of India in the ensuing period. Trainee surveyors enrolled from 01/02/2002
to 30/04/2002, who have submitted minimum 3 quarterly training reports
in Form IV are eligible to appear in the examination. They are required
to submit Insurance Surveyors Examination Form for appearing in written
examination to be held in May, 2003.

The application form for insurance surveyors examination is placed on
the website and the same can be downloaded for further submission to the
Insurance Institute of India, Universal Insurance Building, 6th Floor,
Sir Pherozshah Mehta Road, Mumbai - 400 001, Telephone Nos. 022-2872923
and 22874722, Fax No. 022-22873491 for appearing in the examination to
be held by them on 11th, 25th May and 1st June, 2003. The last date
for submission of application forms to Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai
is 31st March, 2003. Incomplete application form in any respect will
not be entertained by the Institute.
