Clarifications on the specifications of UPS unit

Ref: Our tender notice dated 22nd April 2009 for the supply and installation of servers, desktops, laptops, network equipments, ups, software etc.

It is clarified that the tender requested for UPS is a parallel-redundant UPS system which is comprised of TWO UPS modules running in parallel and seamlessly integrated with each other in such a way that if either of the UPS fails, the other UPS takes over the load.

The UPS unit is expected to have the following features:

(i) During normal operation, when incoming mains power supply (or generated supply) is present, each of the uninterruptible power supply modules in both a parallel-redundant and a parallel-capacity system will share the load equally. Each module will have its own battery set and should have the same runtime duration and dc cut off voltage threshold.

(ii) If any one of the UPS module detects an internal fault they will automatically disconnect from the common output ac bus bar and the remaining UPS module will take over the load without disruption in supply.

Bidders are requested to quote for the UPS module with the specifications / features stated above.
